bridged gaps that seemed insuperable only few years ago. New concepts
and practices have emerged as an important issue for these companies.
The challenge is to implement strategies that enable them to compete

customer requirements and complex and worldwide supply network

(IESM) highlights these challenges emphasizing the industrial
engineering, the information aspects as well as the managerial
aspects.
The IESM, biannual conference, aims to provide a forum in Industrial Engineering, Innovation, System Management, Entrepreneurship and related areas, to share and review the state of knowledge and exchange various advances and issues in a scientific and professional environment. Researchers, professionals, academia, industrialists, and educators in the domain of concern to the Institute were invited to participate to the meeting of IESM, which took place in Saarbrücken, Germany, in 2017.
The conference will provide the participants with the opportunities to present their current research, debate on the new areas worthy of investigation in each of the conference's topics. A special forum with industrials will take place inside the conference. Leading industrials have been invited to present their problems of immediate and long term concerns and their search for their solutions.
